Three Kinds of Storm Damage We Rebuild

Almost all the post-storm damage we see falls into one of these three categories. Each is a different scope of rebuild.

A tree limb through the screen

The most common storm damage by far. A branch punches through the roof or a wall panel, taking out one or more sections. Once the tree is cleared, we remove the damaged panels and rebuild the affected area to match the existing cage.

Panels blown out

High winds pop screen panels out of the frame or shred them, often across the roof, which fails first. Sometimes it is a few panels; sometimes it is most of the enclosure. We re-screen what is gone and check the cables and anchors that let it happen.

A full cage collapse

In the worst storms, the structure itself comes down or is pushed badly off plumb. We have pulled cages back to level with come-along straps and rebuilt total losses from the footers up. This is where 40 years of building, not just screening, makes the difference.

What we see across Brandon, Riverview & the SouthShore coast

Storm damage is not evenly spread. The waterfront and low-lying areas near the bay (Apollo Beach, Ruskin, and the SouthShore communities) take the hardest wind and the most cage losses, while inland Brandon, Valrico, and Riverview see more limb strikes from mature trees. The older 1970s and 80s cages fail worst because the early aluminum is thin and the hurricane-cable retrofits were often never done. After Ian, Idalia, and Milton, we rebuilt across all of it, and we build the replacement to current code so it stands up better next time.

Storm rebuilds are priced by scope, because no two are alike; a few blown-out panels are a very different job from a collapsed cage. We provide a clear written scope and price after assessing the damage, and we document everything for your insurance adjuster so you have what you need to file.

We do not handle the claim itself or bill your carrier directly; you file, and your carrier decides coverage. We also do not offer emergency tarping in the immediate hours after a storm; our work is the rebuild once it is safe to assess.
